A domestic economy on a canal
Cairo’s labour market, the pound, and the Suez Canal are three separate facts.

EconomyEgypt
Economy note. Payrolls, sectors and the currency of wages. Not the city-by-city property file.
The longer country file is the Egypt market hub.
Most of the spending that fills an Egyptian building is domestic, and it is in pounds. The canal is a national logistics asset run by its own authority. It is not the tenant of a Cairo apartment, and it does not fill a hotel by itself.
Investment Law No. 72 of 2017 licenses a project. It is not a real-estate title. The central bank publishes the pound. No exchange rate and no growth figure is printed here. The business and currency sections of the country hub are the longer reading.
