Economy
Three urban economies, one federation
Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Penang do not share a payroll. The national story does not choose among them.

EconomyMalaysia
Economy note. Payrolls, sectors and the currency of wages. Not the city-by-city property file.
The longer country file is the Malaysia market hub.
Occupier demand is three urban economies, not one national payroll. Services and government concentrate in the Klang Valley. Penang is organised by electronics and a port. Johor’s weekday is cross-border work, logistics and manufacturing, plus households who want Malaysian space within reach of Singapore.
English in commercial life does not make the states one legal file. Land rules are state matters. Commodities and trade are the backdrop. The country hub’s economy section keeps the local file. This note only stops a national story from choosing the city.
